This Kotpad dupatta is a hand-woven beauty that comes in a captivating design. The Kotpad weave was traditionally made by the Mirgan community of Kotpad village in Odisha. These hand-woven fabrics are used by tribals on special occasions such as rituals and weddings. 

The distinctive earthy red hue used in this dupatta is derived from the red dye extracted from the local 'Aal' or Banyan tree. The process of preparing this dye takes several months. The motifs woven into the Kotpad are also fascinating. They reflect the signature motifs of the local tribes.
